TOTAL LIBERATION NOW! - here's a small summary in English

Hi! Thank you for your interest! We're the "TOTAL LIBERATION MARCH"-alliance and:

We're organising a demonstration in Munich --

the "Total Liberation March"!

1st of August 2026,

1 p. m.,

Geschwister-Scholl-Platz (Subway-stop Universität), Munich, GERMANY.

And we'd love for you to join!! <3

In the long-term, our vision is building a platform for joining fights for justice and against all sorts of discrimination, exploitation and dominance.

Here we tried summarizing some of the information.

All you need to know about our first demo - the TOTAL LIBERATION MARCH 2026

Language and other Barriers during the demo 2026

The demonstration itself will be held solely in difficult German.

We will offer a "whisper translation" to English.

If you need one, please get in touch with us at the beginning of the demonstration.

If you need translation during the march but will arrive later, please reach out to the awareness-team, to people marked as "Ordner*in" by a label on their arm, or to any person who appears to be more involved with managing the demonstration:

They'll likely be able to show you the people who volunteered to "whisper translate", and/or can help you look for them.

If you speak German and additional languages aside from English, you yourself could join the "Whisper Translation"-Team!

In this case, please also approach us in the beginning of the demonstration, so we know which other languages we can offer, to make this demonstration as inclusive as we currently can. ✊

Unfortunately, we haven’t been able to find a sign language interpreter for the march yet.

If you can interpret, please contact us or approach us at the demo. :)

Regarding the route:

  • You can find the route here. Our schedule allows for a slow walking pace.
  • People who need to can ride along in our sound truck (Warning: loud). Unfortunately, this is the only transportation option we were able to organize.
  • The route crosses tram tracks several times.
  • Restrooms near the route:
    • Universität subway station (60 ct)
    • Historikum, corner of Schellingstraße and Amalienstraße, access via the university courtyard (Schellingstraße)—accessible
    • Nearby: Josephsplatz subway station (60 ct, also accessible: access with a Euro key)
  • Shade & Seating: There are trees, shade, and benches at the start/finish- and the intermediate rallies. Along the rest of the route, there is barely any shade and no benches. The university buildings and the “Universität” subway station might offer cool places to rest.

Health:
If you have any symptoms of illness, please wear a mask out of consideration for other participants.

+++ HEAT WARNING +++
It’s likely going to be hot. Please bring everything you need to keep your body safe (water, electrolytes, a hat or umbrella against the sun, spray bottle, fan, etc.). Please do not take non-human animals with you unless absolutely needed, since the streets will be hot, too. Don't push yourself either. It's okay to not join us, if it is too hot.

Schedule
1:00–2:00 p.m. Opening rally (Geschwister-Scholl-Platz)
2:00–3:00 p.m. March
3:00–3:30 p.m. Mid-march rally (Pinakotheken)

Awareness

The march is a collective process. Our goal is not just a demonstration, but also to build long-term networks and structures of solidarity.

Awareness is a central component to that. We want to create a space that is as safe, mindful, and supportive as possible,
especially for people affected by discrimination, violence, or marginalization.

Discriminatory or violent behavior or the overstepping of boundaries will be taken seriously and will not be downplayed.

If during the Total Liberation March you feel uncomfortable at any point or experience such behaviour or statements, please reach out to our Awareness-Team. They will wear purple wests.

The demonstration itself will be held solely in German, but we will offer a "whisper translation".

ANYONE is welcome to join our demo! They just need to share & follow our principles ;) :

  • We are all fighting for the complete liberation of humans, other animals, and our environment.
  • Sexist, racist, anti-Semitic, anti-LGBTQ+, ableist, speciesist, or ANY otherwise discriminatory statements have no place here.
  • Violent language, slogans, signs, or banners have no place here.
  • Dominant, intimidating, or otherwise violent behavior has no place here.
  • Slogans, signs, banners, or symbols with discriminatory, violent, or derogatory content do not have a place here.
  • We take behavior that crosses boundaries, is discriminatory, or is violent seriously and do not downplay it.
  • We expect all participants to be willing to take responsibility for their actions and to contribute to our collective safety.
  • Don’t jump to conclusions if you encounter problematic statements or behaviors of others. Please talk to our Awareness Team (wearing purple vests) or address the person directly without judgment. The TLM is a space for collective reflection and learning. We want to view such situations as opportunities for shared growth and critical reflection, and treat others not with suspicion or condescension, but as equals. We can still learn a lot from one another. Unlearning the toxic beliefs our socialisation has brought us is a life-long task and requires openness and trust. Our demonstration can provide a space for that.
  • Party-political mobilization, campaigning, or strategic positioning are not welcome. We ask that you refrain from displaying party flags and symbols.
  • We ask that you refrain from displaying national flags and nationalist symbols.

In this context, we do not view the Palestinian flag as a nationalist symbol, but rather as a sign of an anti-colonial struggle for liberation. Therefore, we consider the display of the flag - as well as the wearing of a keffiyeh - to be a legitimate expression of solidarity.

  • Please do not take photos of people without their consent.

  • Do not assume someone’s gender based on their appearance. Ask how they would like to be addressed.

  • Our struggle is independent of financial interests. We reject donations made with the intention of influencing our goals or methods. We gladly accept all other donations, though! :) We will be collecting donations at the demonstration. You can also donate online, at https://www.goodcrowd.org/total-liberation-buendnis-muenchen.

On our alliance and our vision

Why TOTAL LIBERATION?

Climate collapse. Rising right-wing politics. War. Patriarchy. Animal industry. Species extinction. Social inequality.

As these crises continue to escalate, our struggles often run parallel to one another.

But exploitation is systemic.
The oppression of humans, non-human animals, and our shared world is interconnected.

With the Total Liberation March, we aim to bring together various emancipatory movements and make it clear that liberation can only be achieved collectively.

✊ Against capitalism, domination, and all forms of oppression.
For solidarity-based organizing, mutual support, and shared perspectives.

Among other things, the following are central to us:

  • Connections between animal liberation, climate justice, and anti-fascism as well as queer-feminist and anti-colonial struggles
  • Exchange, networking, and organizing in solidarity rather than isolation.
  • Shared perspectives on resistance, liberation, and social change

Who we are

We are groups and individuals from various emancipatory movements who want to overcome the isolation of our struggles.

As the shift to the right, militarization, exploitation of our shared world and all its beings, and social crises escalate, we believe that we must think of our struggles as one fight, and realize the shared root causes of the crises we face.

We believe in creating a community, an alliance, build on solidarity, mutual learning, and collective liberation.

We strive for the Total Liberation March and its alliance to be a space, where this vision comes to life:

a space to bring different struggles together, learn from one another, and develop shared perspectives.
